A Japanese woman explained:“In Japan, firms usually make women promise to leave their jobs when they get married. Sometimes the firms demand this in writing.”
　One day, two years ago, she said to her husband, “I am going out to work. I want to have a profession.” This seemed to astound her husband. He said to her, “ Are you going to turn into a man like me?”
